Severe storms led to flooding and numerous accidents in Germany at the weekend.

Parts of Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and North Rhine-Westphalia were particularly affected. Roads were flooded, cellars overflowed and traffic was disrupted. In some regions, rescue teams had to be called out due to uprooted trees and overturned vehicles. The storm also led to power cuts and train delays. The authorities are warning of further heavy rainfall and advising caution.
